Residues of propellant powder accumulate during shooting due to incomplete burning of the propellant. Depending on the type of weapon, propellant powder residues can be chemically different. Propellant powder residues, e.g. nitrocellulose powder or black powder. Unburnt propellant powder residues must be removed from the base of the shooting lane regularly, at least in the area of the first 5 to 10 metres from the shooter‘s position. When collecting propellant powder residues with unsuitable hoovers, ignition of the propellant powder residues is possible.
